Pandit Rupak Kulkarni is an Indian Flute Maestro and a leading flutist across the globe. He mainly plays the indian classical genre. Be it pure classical or World music, Pt. Rupak is a much sought after artiste. His dextrous playing, combined with his ability to create, have given rise to new ragas. He is also a composer and has scored original music pieces. A child prodigy, the journey from being Rupak Kulkarni to becoming Pandit Rupak Kulkarni has been metamorphical. His father, late Pt. Malhar Rao Kulkarni infused in him a love for the Bansuri. By the tender age of 9, Rupak was accepted by Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia ji as a disciple. An All India Radio Top Grade Artiste and empanelled as an Outstanding Grade Artiste by ICCR, Rupak has performed at almost all prestigious festivals, both, in India and abroad. His first album was released at the age of 18, titled Tenderly, accompanied by Anindo Chatterji on the tabla. His albums have been released by many leading labels.
